The past
influences our future.....

According to local historian John W. Logan, the
orig inal
stone barn was built back in the 1870s by Lawrence C. Stumpf. He sold his land
and the barn stood untouched and neglected until it's collapse over 100 years
later.
Enter Mr. Richard Chamberlin, who read about the
old stone barn and wanted to create a replica while improving on Nature. "Stone
is a special mineral. It's got a certain unmatched beauty. And it doesn't rust,"
said Richard.
Construction
on the main barn began August 8, 1988. All the rocks were lovingly laid in place by hand,
using no concrete or adhesive of any kind. Slowly the barn took
shape with 12 hour days, 7 days a week. Two years, two months, two days, and two
million pounds of stones later, what was once a dream became a reality!
Once the main barn
was completed, which consists of four stalls, a tack shop, bedroom, and patio,
the indoor arena with observation deck was the next to be built. Last, but
certainly not least, ten 12x12 box stalls and a tack room were put in.
