We accept horses for training in Dressage, Cross Country, and Hunter/Jumper. During training, your horse is ridden five days during the week and worked using the Three C's - compassion, caring, and communication. We believe in order for horses to perform well in and out of the show ring, they must come into the arena happy and willing to work - this is what we strive for at Rebel's Rest.

When we accept a horse for training at Rebel's Rest, we will assess his/her specific needs and work with the owner towards mutual goals. Rebel's Rest will keep a training diary for your horse, so you know exactly what was worked on and how your horse responded. We also like to work with you, the owner, so you can maintain consistency with your horse when the two of you return home.

Our Lesson Program

Instruction at Rebel's Rest is centered around safety and having fun. We teach English on the flat, hunter/jumper, dressage, and cross country.  Lessons are taught by Marjy or Dawn. Both are accomplished riders with over 50 years riding & teaching experience combined, and both continue to be up-to-date on new developments in horse & rider training.
Lessons are available for Beginner through Advanced Intermediate riders, aged twelve to adult. During the first lesson we talk with you to assess your riding goals and your abilities, then we work with you to achieve those goals. All riders must wear an ASTM certified helmet, long pants (preferably breeches or jodhpurs), and boots. Rebel's Rest Farm does have these items available for purchase from our tack shop.

$25 for a Private Lesson with 1 Hour of Riding Time

In addition, Dawn can come to you and your horse to teach. Price varies according to distance of travel and price of gasoline. Please call her directly for information at 315-783-8817.
